The EXPO 100L is a vintage channel-expansion kit designed for compatible Cobra SSB CB radios. When properly installed and aligned, it adds 40 channels below and 40 channels above the radio’s original 40-channel band, providing up to 120 channel positions.
Confirmed applications:
• Cobra 148 GTL
• Cobra 2000 GTL
Chassis-dependent application:
• Cobra 148F GTL — verify the PLL, main board and original 11.3258 MHz crystal configuration before installation.
Important: The EXPO 100L is not the correct kit for the Cobra 25 LTD, Cobra 29 LTD, Cobra 140 GTL or Cobra 142 GTL. Those radios use different EXPO kit versions.
Professional installation required
This is not a plug-and-play accessory. Installation requires opening the radio, soldering, mounting the selector switch, frequency alignment and possible VCO or broadband adjustments. Because these radios can have different board revisions or previous modifications, compatibility should be confirmed before installation.
Vintage new-old-stock electronic parts may show minor age-related cosmetic wear from storage.
Legal notice: This modification may allow a radio to transmit outside the authorized 40-channel Class D CB band. The purchaser and operator are responsible for complying with all applicable FCC rules and licensing requirements.
